8LL Studios is the UAE arm of Pelicula, a European production company with feature films and television series to its name. We built that slate across Europe. We are now building it here.
Our studio is based at twofour54 in Abu Dhabi, the UAE production hub. We hold our relationships with the UAE regulatory bodies directly and we bring them into a project during development. Approvals arrive on schedule instead of in the middle of a shoot.
Before a script exists we spend time in the place the story comes from. We meet the people it belongs to.
We learn what they want and what stands between them and having it.
Cultural and regulatory questions belong in development, while the cost of an answer is still a rewrite. We work through them early, with the commissioner, and the drama stays intact. By the time we shoot, the film is clear.
Vladan Anđelković has led major television networks across Southeast Europe and Greece, serving as CEO of B92 and Prva TV in Serbia, CEO of Planet TV in Slovenia, and COO of Antenna Group in Greece. Across those mandates he took television businesses from negative EBITDA to a combined enterprise value of EUR 280 million. He is the owner and CEO of Pelicula Production Studios and owner of MCG UK Limited, moving from the commercial side of broadcasting into feature film and scripted production. He now leads 8LL Studios UAE, extending that slate into the UAE with productions delivered in the region.
Vlada Mašić is a line producer with extensive experience in television and film production. For the past twelve years he has managed the human and technical capacity of production — budgeting for development, shoot and broadcast, and coordinating across every production department. Earlier in his career he was a production manager in the news division, responsible for budgets, the correspondent network and field logistics, and contributing to investigative programming. He built that foundation on the floor, working as a unit manager and ENG camera operator in news and documentary production. He line-produces for 8LL Studios UAE, running budgets, crew and schedule on productions shot in the UAE.
Blaž Jarc is a creative producer, documentary filmmaker and format author with more than two decades in television and digital media. He has worked as a journalist and creative producer at Kanal A, host and lead reporter at Planet TV, and editor-in-chief at both Planet TV and SIOL.net. On the commercial side he has served as creative content specialist at Agencija 101, media consultant and creative specialist at Pro Plus, and creative content strategist at Pristop. He is the owner and creative director of the creative studio Črna srna.
